I created this motion graphic for the hero section of the Politico Pro California’s landing page. Prominently featured are the California capitol building and fine arcs radiate out from California to major hubs: D.C., New York, Brussels, Asia.

MOTION GRAPHIC

Draft 1: Using gold gradient, which follow the look of other Politico California products. However, these arcs are not legible enough. These arcs needed to be repositioned.

Draft 2: Using Politico signature red color. This is more legible. However, this may come off as nonpartisan since the color red represents the Republican party. These arcs needed to be repositioned.

Final: Striked a balance here using both red and blue for a bipartisan look. The arcs are now repositioned with all the major hubs connected.
